Art for All is a BAC community event which provides an outlet for local and regional fine artists to share their talents and sell their artwork to the public.  Modeled after Wilmington's Art for the Masses, no piece of artwork is priced below $25 or above $250.  Here is a review of the very first Art for All:

REVIEW: ART FOR ALL
February 11, 2012 - by Lacey McClain

The Brooklyn Arts Center hosted its first Art For All event on Saturday, February 11, 2012. The celebration of local fine artists brought 800 art lovers out of the cold and through the doors of the beautiful BAC.

A similar event, Art for the Masses, once satisfied the taste buds of local art connoisseurs, but when that annual event disappeared from the community landscape, the need for a new art show arose from the ashes. The Brooklyn Arts Center gathered 34 local fine artists—painters, sculptures, photographers, jewelers, glass and metal workers, and more—who were happy to present their original work for sale at prices everyone could afford.

The show was an unqualified success in all regards. Well-established artists were in attendance, offering their work to the community at price points well below their established levels in regional galleries—all pieces were priced between $25-$250—and up-and-coming artists had the opportunity to present their work to public as well, some for the very first time.

Because of its high marks from both the artists and the community, BAC plans to host another Art for All later in the year. “We hope to have about 60-70 artists for the summer show,” says Heather Thomson, event coordinator for the Brooklyn Arts Center. “We think, when it’s warm and beautiful outside, many more people will attend and have a chance to enjoy our great community of artists.”

Even in the middle of winter, “… it was a perfect event,” says Meghan Kavanagh, art student and attendee. “There were a lot of people there, but it wasn’t overwhelming. And the art was amazing. It was hard to pick just one thing to take home. I wanted to buy everything.”

The Brooklyn Arts Center has since hosted Art for All II during Summer 2012, Art for All 3 on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9, 2013, and Art for All 4 on February 21 and 22, 2014.  Art for All 5 is scheduled for February 2015.  Stay tuned!
